Edited, Chthon. Thanks for pointing that out. 217.239.39.14 is owned by, of all people, Deutsche Telekom, which is pretty odd for a route that's supposed to be entirely within the continental U.S. (this was pointed out to me by somebody on the Comcast help forums).

I ran Game Advisor (I had to temporarily disconnect my router and connect my computer directly to the modem for that) as requested by NCSoft support last evening and got EXACTLY the same ping/traceroute results I had gotten in the morning. When I forwarded the test results to them, they emailed back that they'd escalate the ticket, and so far that's the last I've heard from them. As Cooner said yesterday, everyone who's having this problem needs to run the in-game network diagnostic and/or Game Advisor and send ANet/NCSoft support the output files.

I've just called my net provider, they suggested to change my IP for now, and do some more tests tommorw[being sunday and all]. Didn't help

@ home = Comcast, experiencing the same issues with getting character/map load.
@ work = Surewest & ELI T1's, zero issues logging in.

Believe it or not, I FINALLY managed to get into the game on my ranger just now. I'm in Raisu Palace, but I show up as a different character (my warrior) on my guild roster. I'm going to try to switch characters and get the Wanted from yesterday while it's still available.

EDIT: Switching...or trying to. I'm attempting to switch to my mesmer, who's in ToA, but the load screen is stuck at 0%, as usual. There are still serious issues, it appears.

FURTHER EDIT: (9:55 am Eastern) I don't want to get over-optimistic, but there does seem to be a marked improvement in the situation. The game server 64.25.39.57 appears to be working properly again, and I'm able to get to my characters who are parked in Temple of the Ages, map back and forth between there and Lion's Arch, and go into the keep and get the current Shining Blade Wanted bounty. Still testing.

Yes, it DOES seem to be working now. As of this point, I've been able to load all my characters successfully and do various game things like mapping between outposts. Right now I'm on my 'sin in Doomlore. I'm not ready to declare this issue resolved yet, though, particularly since I still haven't heard back from NCSoft; I'm going to continue to monitor the situation and advise all of you to do the same and post here if there's a change of any sort to your own situations.

i can get on some of my cars in outpost and was able to do a few runs, still am not able to go into GH which makes me still have supersadface. ive submitted a ticket and done the diagnostic stuff

Id put my life on it that it was comcast. Still having some minor problems on gws and a couple other games when my ping is 33ms on them all.

I've been lurking and reading the posts. Had the same connection problems starting last friday and over the weekend when on Sunday it started working again. But now the same problem is back. I called Comcast and the person I spoke to said there was nothing they could do for me because my internet works and it's only guild wars that I can't connect to. This is soooo frustrating. If this doesn't get fixed by tonight, I'm going to try and switch over to Google's DNS.

If anyone is able to connect and play again, please post

I called Comcast as well and got the same song and dance. I also called AT&T and am moving back over to DSL, because any time I have issues it isn't their problem even though 99% of the time it is.

I just tried logging into and was able to select my characters and play It seems to be back up and running again. I hope there are no more connection problems here on out - crossing my fingers.

If I could switch over to AT&T's DSL service, I would do it in a heartbeat. But I live in an area that only Comcast serves

NCSoft support wrote this morning and told me that the problem had been partially on Comcast's end (possibly owing to their recent DNS upgrade?) and that NCSoft and Comcast engineers had had to work together to fix the issue.

Really? 'Cause I had the same issue last weekend and I am not with Comcast. I'm in Canada through my provider, EastLink.
Everything worked fine, internet wise, except connecting to Guild Wars servers. I didn't file a ticket or was too worried and seems to be fine this weekend (didn't try during the week).

Sounds like the 'ncsoft and comcast had to work together' is just a bs excuse in my opinion lol.

A few minutes ago game dc, I can't reconnect I get Code=58 (I can't login anymore to game, can't even open www.guildwars.com or wiki.guildwars.com) (The game is not corupted, my father is playing also gw from his pc and he is having same problems (look to be a network issue, not the first one in the last days, a couple of days i was unable to acces wiki.guildwars.com , all 6 dns server were failing to resolve the adress (including here opendns and google dns))).

Tracert is giving me request timeout after the first Level3 ( ae-11-11.car2.Bucharest1.Level3.net )

Everything else (other sites and games that i visit/play) work without problems.

L.E.: now i see that I can't even get to ae-11-11.car2.Bucharest1.Level3.net ...

L.E.2 : all problems looked to got fixed... (now i was able to login and to open guildwars.com and wiki)

i also had a dc 1 hour ago but code 007 now i keep getting 005, so i guess its a gw server issue?
guildwars.com works for me though
